Note that it is not just about stack overflow errors, m4 uses the general sigsegv handlers, which attempt to provide diagnostics for all memory addressing errors.

Understood. 

On re-assessment I believe the main ambiguity for users may centre around the terms 'diagnostics' and 'better'. Perhaps something like:

"Use alternative page fault handler (GNU libsigsegv)"

Thoughts?
