Description John Baldwin freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2014-09-26 20:07:59 UTC
Please consider creating a bugzilla.freebsd.org CNAME that redirects to bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla. Or alternatively, make bugs.freebsd.org point directly to bugzilla.
Comment 1 John Baldwin freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-01-27 19:05:04 UTC
Having looked at this again today, I would just make bugs.freebsd.org point directly at bugzilla. I think the bugzilla front page is clearer and more useful than the current page that bugs.freebsd.org points at.
Comment 2 Ed Maste freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-01-29 17:42:00 UTC
I agree.

We can also add some general information on the bugzilla landing page if desired, including links to https://www.freebsd.org/support.html or https://www.freebsd.org/support/bugreports.html.

This will likely need to be changed in collaboration with our varnish administrators (clusteradm@ ?)

A copy of the current config (entries related to bugzilla) would be handy to determine what the current state is and any caveats that need to be considered.

@sbruno, can you create a a separate issue for homepage templates/changes you'd like to see please. We (I) have a few things in mind for this space as well, so it would be good to track them together.
Comment 4 Mark Felder freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-12-10 14:23:15 UTC
looks like bugs.freebsd.org now sends a 302 redirect to /bugzilla/
Comment 5 John Baldwin freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-12-10 14:24:13 UTC
Looks like this was fixed recently.
Comment 6 Kubilay Kocak freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-12-10 22:40:38 UTC
This issue is about the issue tracker's root url not including the /bugzilla/ suffix
Comment 7 John Baldwin freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2015-12-11 21:57:09 UTC
Hmm, as the person who opened the bug, I just wanted 'bugs.freebsd.org' to go to bugzilla (which it now does). I didn't really care about the 'bugzilla' bit in the URL. :)

Ah! :)

I suppose I got confused by:

"Or alternatively, make bugs.freebsd.org point directly to bugzilla."

I was just suggesting possible implementations is all.

Do you still want this open (i.e. does bugmeister want to eventually trim
/bugzilla/ from all the URLs) or can we close this?
Comment 11 Eitan Adler freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2018-01-01 22:03:45 UTC
In theory it might be nice to have no additional directory but beauty's sake but we'll likely never do this. In addition, having a directory structure gives some theoretical flexibility.

The original request was resolved. Closing.
