The default option for XMBC triggers a samba-nmlookup dependency, which causes a conflict with samba. This means that a media server can't also be a file server.

This could be fixed by either changing the default install location of samba-nmclient so that it doesn't conflict with samba, removing the parts of the samba package that are in samba-nmclient so that the two can coexist, or removing the default samba-nmclient dependency for xmbc. Or, eventually, by using the provides / requires mechanism to allow xbmc to optionally depend on samba.

David didn't give any idea who to assign the PR too, and I can't find xmbc in ports so I'll assign this to sambaX maintainer. If that's wrong, Timur can bounce it to somebody else.
