I feel it would be very helpful to users to have a quick "mark out-of-date"
button on the port search results page that will automatically email the
maintainer letting them know their port is out of date if the button is
pressed.

For additional security and to prevent spam, a captcha could probably be added.

Also, to make things easier for the maintainer, perhaps there could be a user
input field to input the new version number.

I feel this would have a lot of benefit for end users as it is much
quicker/easier to click a button and fill out a captcha than it is to file a
full-on bug in bugzilla.

Hi,

Due to an issue with the backend FreeBSD Bugzilla database, your original PR and any updates to it since have been lost. I've recreated the original PR as best as I can, however any attachments and updates you submitted to the PR have been lost. Please could you resubmit them?

Thanks, and apologies.

Thanks for your suggestion, and I'm sorry it's been around a while.

We have portscout, which automatically alerts port maintainers if a new version of a port is out upstream, and the maintainer can then have a look.

Failing that, the search function already has the maintainer's email address, so the user can easily just click that and send an email.
