Auto-assigned to maintainer timur@FreeBSD.org But it stated in the README.FreeBSD file of the port. I'd pass that request to the doc team. Working on a patch for this. (In reply to Shawn Debnath from comment #3) I aggree that the handbook need a refresh on that The doc in the handbook is about samba 3.x and according to the official samba replease planning (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_Release_Planning) samba 3.6 is end of live since march 2015 (one year) and their release cycle is accelerating I have my onw doc that was working with FreeBSd 10.2 + samba 4.2.7 Well, just now with the very recent updates nothing works anymore, but I hope it's temporary...and that doesn't change the principles of the installation. So I can share that doc with you if you feel it can be useful (In reply to dasti from comment #4) Thanks for bringing this back to my attention. I have the instructions for samba 4 as well but didn't know samba 36 was EOLed. Thanks for pointing it out! I am planning on revising the section in general, so should have an update soon.
