Dirty workaround (no live display): # echo 'm' | top Ok, my fault, top -m io does the thing, that leaves the problem to man page. For the man page. The descriptions can be found in getrusage(2). That's where top (1) takes the information from. It should at least be referenced in the SEE ALSO section, but better described in the THE DISPLAY section as well. If I have time next weekend I can take a look at this, but I can't promise. Would be great if this could be done who maybe has more insight or time. A commit references this bug: Author: eadler Date: Mon May 21 00:20:32 UTC 2018 New revision: 333948 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/base/333948 Log: top(1): add getrusage to SEE also This documents the various columns that top might support. PR: 199637 Submitted by: vermaden@interia.pl Changes: head/usr.bin/top/top.1 I've added a ref to getruage to see also. Replicating information is just going to lead to at least one of the manual pages becoming stale. |
