Looks like they are indeed needed; you certainly should talk to Eduard about merging them upstream (e.g. by opening a pull request or something).

Created attachment 158251 [details] svn diff in science/libint This patch updates the port to 1.1.6, the latest stable upstream release in the v1 series. It also converts the port to use the new upstream github. Notable patch: the configure.in used upstream does not work with our autoreconf USES and needs a few more AC_DEFINES. If this patch gets accepted, I will try to upstream them. Also, I would be willing to add more options to the port and work on a libint v2 port if interest exists. Please note that the original port did not even compile for me.
