Hi! I'm looking into what the CPE information is used for, and why it was added. Once I've gotten an answer I will look into getting this into the ports tree as fast as possible. A commit references this bug: Author: zeising Date: Thu Jul 16 21:19:33 UTC 2015 New revision: 392323 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/392323 Log: Update to 2.13.1 Sort USES and regenerate patch to please portlint. PR: 201429 Submitted by: mp39590@gmail.com Changes: head/graphics/feh/Makefile head/graphics/feh/distinfo head/graphics/feh/files/patch-config.mk I have updated the port as per the patch, however I didn't remove the CPE information, as I could find entries for feh and Daniel Friesel in the NIST CPE database. Thanks for your submission! I could swear, CPE NIST was returning zero matches for daniel_friesel query when I was doing it; looks like their web search was broken when I did it. Duly noted. Thank you for pointing this out, will consider this in the future. |
Created attachment 158545 [details] patch - update from 2.12 to 2.13.1 - remove CPE information - regen patch in files/ I'd like to propose to remove CPE information, since there is no such vendor as 'daniel_friesel' in NIST dictionary. Patch in files/ is regenerated to make portlint -AC silent.
