An install in Vmware Fusion, configured with the UEFI firmware, and using the Auto-UFS partition option left the root file system without /home (nor /usr/home). Adding a non-root user failed (partially) with pw(8) not being able to create /home/${USER} and populate the user's home directory. The user was added to /etc/passwd though.
