Description Wayne Sierke 2015-11-11 04:56:52 UTC
When the "Ports & Packages/Individual Port" component is selected the "Component Description" text displays the instruction:

Prefix "category/port:" to the issue title so that MAINTAINER is Assigned or CC'd automatically

Here "issue title" is referring to the "Summary" field. This can be confusing for new users as just evidenced on IRC (and which also reflects my own experience when first submitting a bug for ports).

The text "issue title" should be replaced by "Summary" or otherwise made clear that the issue title is entered in the "Summary" field - e.g.:

Prefix "category/port:" to the issue title entered in the Summary field so that MAINTAINER is Assigned or CC'd automatically

or perhaps better:

Prefix the Summary with "category/port:" so that MAINTAINER is Assigned or CC'd automatically

Modified description:

* To text suggested by Wayne, and matching the exactly field name
* Added minor html formatting to ease readability, and bolden

Also modified description for Ports Framework (now that i know basic formatting is doable) to:

Make it clearer that "Ports Framework" issues are only for issues in certain /usr/ports/ paths.

Thank you for the report Wayne, we appreciate and welcome any more ideas, feedback and suggestions around improving the new user (or not veteran user) experience by making things more obvious & intuitive.
