gdb backtrace for nautilus.core after a crash none

Description fehmi noyan isi 2016-01-31 10:44:22 UTC
Nautilus installed by GNOME3 meta package crashes all the time when the view menu (the one between the "search" and "new folder" menus) is used.

Issue causes nautilus to use 100% CPU and eventually crash. Software has been installed via pkg binaries.

System information:

nautilus-3.16.3
gnome3-3.16.2

gdb backtrace for nautilus.core after a crash

epiphany was ran from terminal window. After the crash, two core files were dumped; epiphany,core and WebKitWebProcess.core

Attached output has been produced by invoking gdb from the command line;
gdb epiphany epiphany.core

I'm able to reproduce this. Although on my machine nautilus goes into 100% cpu usage and doesn't crash (yet). It will probably be a bit before I can properly debug this, apart from the fact that I severly dislike this kind of run-time issues.

On the plus side the 3.18 version of nautilus doesn't have this issue.

(In reply to Koop Mast from comment #2)
It crashed (not core dump, just closed) on my FreeBSD 10.2 (amd64) if I want to open files on cd-rom. The version is 3.18.5 (Files).

If I run nautilus in WindowMaker, it just works fine. I am able to resize icons or use all the functionality nautilus offers.

With the new version of gnome3, which is gnome3-3.18.0, the issue seems to be resolved.
