Why did you remove the NLS option ? Is the port not working without it ? If it works WITHOUT=NLS, could you put it back ? At least, gettext-runtime is essential for this port. Although it would be possible to prepare an option knob that affects just only installation of message catalogs, it does not seem rational for me to increase complexity unless there are any other advantages besides reducing very small file size from large application packages featuring modern GUI toolkits like GTK or Qt. Well, there are software for which gettext is optional, for those, it's nice to be able to build without it.
