Since (as billf points out in the audit-trail), this is a binary-only port, there's probably nothing that can be done here. As noted above, this is something that should be taken up with the distributors of the binary. This PR has had no action since 2000, and the current owner of the PR is no longer even the port maintainer, so this PR should just be closed.
