I forgot to include the differential URL in a commit, but now it seems I can't close it myself.  It used to be that you could "accept" the commit yourself and then close it, but that loophole has been fixed?  It seems a shame to have to abandon a revision that is actually committed.  It would be even better if the UI supported some way to let you simulate a real close by tying it to a commit.

differential.allow-self-accept set to true
