Bug 208591

Summary: security/cmd5checkpw: Man page points to wrong config path
Product: Ports & Packages Reporter: FiLiS <freebsdbugs>
Component: Individual Port(s)Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs (Nobody) <ports-bugs>
Status: Closed Overcome By Events
Severity: Affects Some People CC: ler, vlad-fbsd
Priority: --- Keywords: needs-patch, needs-qa
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description FiLiS 2016-04-06 20:18:29 UTC
the man page mentions the password file location to be /etc/poppasswd, but main.c points to /usr/local/etc/poppasswd:

#define SMTP_PASSWD_FILE "/usr/local/etc/poppasswd"

trying to figure out which file to use would be a bit easier if the man page would show the correct file to use

Thanks for the report. This port is broken because the master site (GOOGLE_CODE) has gone away. Would you like to take maintainership of this port and unbreak it? That would require a working upstream repository.

Gentoo's portage lists this as upstream, if that is even the same cmd5checkpw, I don't know:

not really, no. We rarely used it in the past and aren't planning on using it in the future, so it's fine for us to let it die.

refers to expired, removed port.
