Bug 20920

Summary: window(1) interferes with screensaver
Product: Base System Reporter: Andy Farkas <andyf>
Component: miscAssignee: freebsd-bugs (Nobody) <bugs>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 4.1-STABLE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Andy Farkas 2000-08-29 08:20:02 UTC
Output from a vty running window(1) causes the screensaver to `un-blank'
when switched away from the vty running window(1).

How-To-Repeat: Switch to a virtual console (not vty0). Login as a normal user and
run window(1). In window 1 run `ping -i 10 localhost'. Switch to
vty0 (ALT-F1). Press <Shift-Pause> to invoke screensaver. Watch as
the screensaver `un-blank's within 10 seconds...

This sounds like it has something to do with what the manual page
describes as "The screen saver will not run if the screen is not
in text mode", but let's pass it on to the maintainer anyways.

Is this still a problem with modern versions of FreeBSD?
