For an extented period the service provided by the "search engine" for the mailing list database has been deteriorating.  The exclusion of an option for "year" has made the search for Branch related information increasing difficult.
In addition, the dates returned by topical searches do not match those in the mail headers of the mails returned, further increasing the difficulty of finding information related to certain Branches or time periods.

Fix: 

the webmaster needs to review the search scripts (or indexing scripts, assuming mails are in a database) to see where the parsing error occurs.
How-To-Repeat: enter a probable random topic and compare the dates on the listed mails with those in the mails (e.g. mail headers) themselves
