Bug 21080

Summary: dump doesn't use eject tape device correctly
Product: Base System Reporter: mjacob <mjacob>
Component: binAssignee: Matt Jacob <mjacob>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 5.0-CURRENT
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description mjacob 2000-09-06 19:00:01 UTC
If you use the eject tape device, e.g., ersa0, for a multi tape backup,
the tape drive gets bunged up trying to change tapes because a close
ejects the tape, and then dump gets stuck trying (re)open the tape drive
to tell you to change tapes (!).

How-To-Repeat:
See above.

Is this still a problem with modern versions of FreeBSD?
