Try to install the version javavmwrapper-2.5_2 using pkg.
You will see the message:
[2/2] Extracting javavmwrapper-2.5_2: 100%
You may need to manually remove /usr/local/etc/javavm_opts.conf if it is no longer needed.
pkg: Fail to rename /usr/local/bin/.checkvms.y69ZCycWDUxf -> /usr/local/bin/checkvms: No such file or directory

Same error here.

I have to lock javavmwrapper for pkg that I can upgrade other packages normally.

Multiple [1][2][3] users have reported/mentioned this issue (and on IRC). Affects some/many people seems appropriate.
