Sorry for the above mis-post - The list of 'potential duplicates' obscured my screen. Anyway, just a quickie: I googled "freebsd erratas" to check before installing, and the top entry was this: https://www.freebsd.org/security/notices.html I visited it, and found nothing to worry about. It was only later by accident that I stumbled on: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/11.0R/errata.html I think it would be more than useful if the errata page also linked/mentioned these release pages. Cheers, Jamie Are you suggesting that the "security notices" page should link to Errata? Hi - I don't even remember raising this bug! It does appear that that was what I was suggesting! I think it was due to the fact that the security notices page is titled "FreeBSD Erratas", not (eg) "security related erratas" - that title implied to me that it *was* the errata page, so I almost missed the full errata page (specifically the 'Open issues' section which was relevent to me at the time) I guess my point was that it may be better if that page made clearer it was just related to security erratas, and for other erratas, see [link] Hope this makes sense! cheers, Jamie Hey, This page actually contains the exact same content as the errata notices for the release. For example, if you look at the errata for the latest release, you'll see that all of the 17 items (down to FreeBSD-EN-19:17.ipfw) are listed on the security/notices page. This means that it *is* actually the errata page and is correctly labelled! Please let me know if you still disagree, and I'll take another look. Chris |
