This type of PR is against the guidelines:

specifically listed as not appropriate:
"Notification of updates to externally maintained software (mainly ports, but also externally maintained base system components such as BIND or various GNU utilities)."

If you had a patch to update it along with proof of basic testing, that would be appropriate.  Feel free to reopen when you have such a patch.
