Beware that this specification is incompatible with earlier drafts;and stations implementing earlier drafts (e.g. Linux) may not interoperate.

Updated Sentence:
Be aware that this specification is incompatible with earlier drafts. 
Stations implementing earlier drafts (e.g. Linux) may be incompatible.
