I was using a PPP conection on my system, using KPPP under KDE. However, If i ever powered down the modem while system was up (but NOT the PPP link) the system would reset. Please remidy this problem so that I may feel comfortable using FreeBSD again.
Thank you,
Mick Benoit

How-To-Repeat: Hook up a USR 28.8 Sportster and turn it off while the system is running.

Does this problem still occur with more recent releases? If so,
you will need to supply more details such as what way the modem
is connected (is it ISA, USB, pccard or plugged into a serial
port?) and panic messages from when the machine rebooted.
