The unbundling of six/appdirs/packaging that was making the upgrade difficult was reverted in: https://github.com/pypa/setuptools/commit/3d0cc355fb5e8012cb8c72f0e25042a5a44f31d6 Why not USES+= zip instead of USE_GITHUB? I believe this would make the pre-configure step unneeded too? Created attachment 183356 [details]
