Bug 22205

Summary: /ports/misc/moviedb core dumps when Title or List queries are run
Product: Ports & Packages Reporter: tdwyer <tdwyer>
Component: Individual Port(s)Assignee: freebsd-ports (Nobody) <ports>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description tdwyer 2000-10-22 07:00:02 UTC
Port compiles and installs OK.
title -t Goldfinger -full causes a partial return of the requested
data but title dumps core.
I've seen the same happen for the list utility more than once.

If I can make a couple of suggestions:
1) Can we have an interactive option to install the databases
uncompressed - for those of us with disk space to burn 8-)
Queries are terribly slow on my 400MHz celeron with a fast
   WD 20GB drive.
2) Would it be possible to import "imoviedb" into the port?
It's a much more user-friendly interface for simple
queries, and builds without a problem once the configure
script has been beaten into shape.
I hope this is not too far off topic to be considered.

Fix:

No idea, unfortunately
How-To-Repeat: Running "title -t Goldfinger -full" will reliably cause a core dump
on my machine.

Can you work up a set of diffs that fixes this problem for you? If not,
have you contacted the maintainer of this port to see if they could help?
