trying to "/script load twirssi.pl", irssi reported three errors in the twirssi.pl:

there are unescaped '{' in de script, lines 325, 328 and 3244.

after escaping these left braces manually, twirssi.pl runs as expected.

concerns twirssi 2.6.3, installed on 20181008 with pkg
FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p4

How about providing an actual patch that does this?

On the other hand there are several new releases [1].  It might be worthwhile
to update this port instead of patching it.  2.6.3 is 5 years out of date.
Does it even still work correctly with Twitter?

I no longer use this port so I dropped maintainership

Assign to new maintainer after ports r493863 (updated to 2.8.0).
Is the problem gone?

Works fine for me with 2.8.0.  Please update.
