Description ruggero.dallaglio 2019-01-25 10:25:47 UTC
It seems you failed the correct URL to download different platforms; from https://www.freebsd.org/where.html

each ISO link points to ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/platform/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/ but exit with 550 error code

Correct URL doubles platform info:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/platform/platform/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/

I.E.: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/

Not a good start I'd say.

Hello. I'm trying to reproduce the error but without success. Starting from https://www.freebsd.org/where.html in the main table "FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE" following the links will result in the actual correct files. I verified other options from the page but still cannot reproduce what you're explaining.
Can you inform what is the exactly link, starting from https://www.freebsd.org/where.html that ended in the explained situation, please?
Thank you!

Sorry, you're absolutely right. The correct (not working) URL is tied to country: https://www.freebsd.org/it/where.html.

Thanks.

R.

Confirmed, the it translation of this page has broken links. Not just the ISO links, but all links in the table are broken, and some of the links in the body of the text are broken.

We should look at other languages and see if this is a larger problem, I did check fr and it looks ok

Removing re@ from this report, as it is a doc translation issue.

Hi all, thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, due to the reasons that you
mentioned and no enough people working on it, the `it` language has now been
removed from the homepage (https://www.freebsd.org/).

Closing this PR for now. If you are interested in joining the language team and
get Italian websites back to work, please do let me know ;)
