Looking at the website home page of FreeBSD it does not scale well at different screen widths.

Taking advantage of new CSS features could resolve this without affecting the present HTML - it could also resolve bug #225042 and bug #221209.

I have attached a modified version of layout.css (that has my suggestions) which is found here on the live site:
