With Apache's APR page stating that 1.7.0 is the best available version, the current version 1.6.5 breaking with MySQL 8.0 installed, and MySQL 5.7 EOS in 14-15 months, I'm requesting an upgrade of the official devel/apr1 from 1.6.5 to 1.7.x.  New projects are starting, and not wanting to have to do a major version upgrade in a year, when they can do a greenfield start now.
