This happend after building new kernel last week and it still happens when booting using snapshot image FreeBSD-13.0-CURRENT-amd64-20190718-r350103-memstick.img You may want to check whether there are any "hanging" devices which are seen on USB but don't attach properly (for example, waiting for firmware upload). See for instance bug #228787. I'm having the exact same issue on FreeBSD Hades 13.0-RELEASE-p3 FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE-p3 this is the error I keep getting: Jul 18 17:32:48 BSDpc kernel: Root mount waiting for: usbus0 Jul 18 17:32:48 BSDpc kernel: usbd_setup_device_desc: getting device descriptor at addr 3 failed, USB_ERR_TIMEOUT over and over it eventually stops and starts xfce, but it adds too much boot time. I'm on an 8th generation X1 Carbon I have the same message. Cherry Stream TKL keyboard is not recognised and thus not working. The issue first appeared some two months ago but with some port shuffling it went away few times. When I successfully installed a configured Xen and on first boot it appeared again but this time no port shuffling worked. Tried even flash older bios to see if it works it did not so I flashed again back latest. Enabled dtrace probe before boot, rebooted and now waiting for > file finish. Maybe will find something there. BTW I am on 15.0-CURRENT |
