Summary: network traffic appears bottlecaped.
Product: Base System Reporter: darren <darren>
Component: i386Assignee: freebsd-bugs (Nobody) <bugs>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 4.2-RELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description darren 2001-01-08 12:00:01 UTC
the deal is if I have say about 6 users loged on to xl0 which talks to my cable
modem, and then I have 1 user loged onto ed0 which is only for my local lan.
and only one computer is on that lan. keeping in mind that everything is no faster than 1000kps.
the user one the lan with no traffic can't get fast speeds. downloads directly from ed0(192.168.1.1) can be anywhere between 60kps and 500kps.
if I then unplug the cable modem and reboot the lan speed is anywhere between 800 to 1200kps
keeping in mind that it will go 800kps anyway if no one is loged into me via xl0. I'd appreciate someone getting back to me on this bottlecap. and I'm willing to provide any system stats you may request.
