When I put my machine into single user mode and then return into multi user mode
the systems starts up as expected but crashes as soon as the login appears.
A debugging kernel doesn't help.

Fix: 

Looks to me like the pcvt terminal doesn't like come up again.
How-To-Repeat: Do the same I did.
