Bug 24433

Summary: NFSv3 service hangs when writing large amounts of data to FIFO
Product: Base System Reporter: Jari Kirma <kirma>
Component: kernAssignee: freebsd-bugs (Nobody) <bugs>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 4.0-STABLE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Jari Kirma 2001-01-18 14:50:07 UTC
NFSv3 service stops functioning when large amount of data is written to FIFO in filesystem mounted from Solaris.

NFS client:

SunOS dev 5.7 Generic_106541-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4

Fix:

Reboot the server.
How-To-Repeat: Write lots of data to a FIFO, with configuration described above.
"Small" amounts (that do not fill the Solaris internal buffers before getting read?) do not cause this effect.

Does this problem still occur with more recent source code?
