Description ted.smith 2001-01-26 01:30:01 UTC
I need a list Gigabit Ethernet interfaces which bridging is supported. Is Bridging supported on Gigabit Ethernet? If so, which vendors?

I would like to see the Sysconnect and Intel 1000BaseSX cards supported.

[This should have been asked on -questions or -net, not submitted as a

Since Gigabit Ethernet is Ethernet, bridging should just work.
Support was added in May to make bridging generic to Ethernet instead
of interface dependent. You're obviously not going to be able to bridge
at wirespeed, but it should work.

JFYI, even the author of the Intel driver doesn't really recommend them
since he can't get docs to get decent performance out of them.
