Even though this is a revival of an existing port, I think the right thing would be a patch against the last version, rather than a new shar. Also even for re-added ports, IIUC the requirement that maintainer != ports@FreeBSD.org still applies.

Do we really want to import something that hasn't been touched upstream in 15+ years? At least import fixes from Debian although although this is really on life support (no longer in repos other than Debian's more or less looking at repology.org https://salsa.debian.org/debian/sn/-/blob/master/debian/changelog

Debian has just makefile patch. I will take a look on these projects. This one sw works better then leafnode.
