See, kids, the thing is ... ... you can't claim you have "hacked" a bug submission system that is intentionally left open to new submitters, as a way to ease feedback from people who have not previously been FreeBSD submitters. It's our design decision. We (FreeBSD) have overweighted the ability of casual FreeBSD users to let us know of bugs in our software, over erecting artificial barriers for them to do so, just so that "submissions" like this one would have to be automatically screened out -- instead of manually like they have to be now. This is the moral equivalent of kicking over an anthill just to see the ants run around. Most of us get over such amusements by the age of, say, 8. |
