Since I upgraded from 12.1 to 12.2 through freebsd-update font artifacts with Xorg have appeared. More precisely, characters are randomly missing in for example Conky, when loading web pages with NetSurf, WindowMaker menus or the i3 bar. I have booted a Haiku live CD to check whether this problem was reproducible with it so as to rule out a malfunctioning video card. There are no font problems with Haiku or any other display problems.

This machine is an AMD Athlon 2800+ with an EPoX EP-8RDA nForce2 motherboard and the video card is a Radeon 9600 PRO.

When you updated from 12.1 to 12.2, did you update ports at the same time?

Unfortunately, i386 is quite old, and support for it is best effort from a graphics support standpoint. Does it work better on 13.0?

Which version of drm-kmod and drm-fbsd12.0-kmod are you using?
