Bug 25419

Summary: Difficulties installing print/teTeX port
Product: Ports & Packages Reporter: bmah <bmah>
Component: Individual Port(s)Assignee: Ade Lovett <ade>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description bmah 2001-02-27 17:40:01 UTC
The print/teTeX port seems to have some problems installing if certain
of the environment variables used by TeX are set.

Fix:

I think the best thing to do would be to try to sanitize the environment
as a part of the build process, but I'm not sure what variables need
this treatment.
How-To-Repeat:
On my system (for some reason), I have the PKFONTS environment variable
set. A "make install" for the teTeX port will hang after printing the
"Generating temporary packing list" phase. I think (based on examining
the process table) that one of the texconfig invocations in
post-install is hanging or waiting for input. Removing the definition
of this variable results in a successful install.

I've installed this port a few times in the past week without problems.
It may have been updated since you posted this, can you verify the
problem still exists?
