The `pkg` utility logs installment, updates and removal of packages. `freebsd-update` however doesn't seem to log anything. For traceability reasons it may be important that system updates are logged to syslog.

A great idea, thank you. 

I checked the manual page for syslog.conf(5), there's no mention of freebsd-update(8).
