All links returns 404
Comment 1 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 01:37:15 UTC
The "All links returns 404" claim is false, in that the examples I try work fine. For example: https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/2021-May/121025.html works just fine for finding one of my messages that is in the old pipermail based history. And: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports/2021-June/000082.html works just fine for one of my messages in the new archives based history. You probably need to explicitly list example URLs that you are having troubles with and possibly give some idea of the time frames in which the URLs were originally generated and the time frames to which they are supposed to refer.

Linked from the given URL <https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports>, <https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/2021-June/index.html> and <https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/2021-June/subject.html> * were 404 for me at 01:28 BST (around eight hours ago) * are 404 for me at 09:29 BST.
Comment 3 Graham Perrin 2021-06-12 08:43:24 UTC
Created attachment 225752 [details] Screenshot All non-blurred links lead to pages that are 404, not found.
Comment 4 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 16:34:11 UTC
(In reply to Graham Perrin from comment #3) All the non-blurred links work fine here. Sounds like a more local problem, not a universal one. (I'm in the Pacific NW USA.)
Comment 5 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 16:46:18 UTC
(In reply to Graham Perrin from comment #2) Hmm. Interesting: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports leads to a page that fails when its links are used but: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports/index.html leads to a page that has links that work. The failing page has links like (no reference to freebsd-ports): https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/2021-June/index.html https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/2021-June/subject.html but the working page has the matching links that have the references: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports/2021-June/index.html https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports/2021-June/subject.html Previously I had started from something that got to the . . ./freebsd-ports/index.html page.
Comment 6 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 16:52:03 UTC
(In reply to Mark Millard from comment #5) Turns out that: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm/ leads to a page that works as well. And, the same distinctions exist for freebsd-arm: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm leads to a page that fails. But: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm/ and: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm/index.html lead to pages that work. The issue does not seem to be freebsd-ports specific.
Comment 7 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 16:52:55 UTC
(In reply to Mark Millard from comment #6) I meant that first example to be: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports/ Sorry.
Comment 8 Daniel Engberg 2021-06-12 18:10:24 UTC
Summary, it's still broken as reported from the start
Comment 9 Mark Millard 2021-06-12 23:29:17 UTC
(In reply to Daniel Engberg from comment #8) No: "All links returns 404" was incorrect. I listed some links that work. It also had too little context for others to reliably reproduce the problem. That has since been taken care of. Your later notes proved sufficient. Thanks for adding them.
