on the Web site: https://www.freebsd.org/ports/
   searching with 'All' or 'Package Name' for 'binutils' fails to show.
However, the category: devel does list binutils.

I later discovered on https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=binutils&stype=all
  sparc64-binutils-2.33.1_4,1
    GNU binary tools

which has the link: https://cgit.freebsd.org/ports/tree/devel/binutils

therefore, something is mislabeled or misnamed.
If the above binutils is really for 'sparc64' then where is the one for 'amd64' -
(or elf64-x86-64-freebsd)?

'binutils GNU binary tools' is found and maintained Last Update: 2021-04-06 14:31:07
