The removal of this port causes a lot of trouble for me. It was working for me until it was removed recently.

Apart from being unmaintained for years what functionality are you missing?
Remmina, tigervnc-viewer, tightvnc, wlvncc, krdc to name a few vnc viewers that are in ports
