Thank you for your initiative. I had also considered this once and then found no time for it.

Gladly devel/py-spyder-kernels can be adapted accordingly :)

jupyter notebook and lab fail at runtime as they need traitlets>=5.2.2 and jinja2>=3.0.3 while we have traitlets-5.1.1 and Jinja2-3.0.1 in ports.
