Running tcpdump or ntop, or any application switching
to promiscuous mode makes Aironet to die by means of no traffic
allowed anymore.

How-To-Repeat: Reboot, run tcpdump ( NO -p option ),  or ntop. 
Try ping <any-non-local-host>
