It's not completely abandoned in the sense that the distfile is still available at the original upstream. Why do you want to remove this port? It's not because software hasn't been updated in a while (even fifteen years) that it no longer works, or is no longer being used. I'm not necessarily opposed to removing the port. I'm just wondering why. CDDB is legacy at best, and freedb is dead so tagging is completely broken. It has very limited codec support, no checksum verification, isn't aware of pregrap, doesn't use replaygain etc. There are a lot of missing features and what you could call less than ideal practices these days and dating a few years back. The world has moved on since then. I agree that we should remove it from the ports tree. I've committed your patch. Thanks for reporting this.
