Looks like it was my Win Modem causing the problem. I was able to install FreeBSD 4.3 after I removed my Win Modem. My Intel Ether Express Card was detected properly and I don't have any problems now. This case may be considered closed. Thanks State Changed From-To: open->closed Requested by originator. |
I attempted to install FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE,4.3-RELEASE and 4.3-CURRENT on my PC. The install hangs up right after I resolve the hardware conflicts when it says "Probing Devices.... (This may take a while)" However, I was able to install 3.5.1 with no problems, eventhough it did not recognize my CD-ROM. I installed it from a FAT32 partition from another disk. Fix: Disabling the Intel Pro/100 LAN Adapter from BIOS took me to the next stage of installation. How-To-Repeat: Machine with same configuration (more importantly with the Intel Pro/100 LAN Adapter) should reproduce this error.
