Both CPU and MB are very old:
* Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU         930  @ 2.80GHz
* P6X58D PREMIUM

The latest NVidia driver and the NVidia graphics card are installed.

No messages are added to the log during crash.
Picture on the monitor becomes distorted - something changes in the colors and shapes.

What might be a problem?

Without a panic message and/or a traceback from crashdump, there's no clue we can give you.

It was a particular workload that was causing the crashes.

I will get back to that workload, and will obtain the traceback once I will have time to get to it again.
