Product: Base System Reporter: nork <nork>
Component: confAssignee: Brian Somers <brian>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal

Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description nork 2001-08-03 19:40:20 UTC
When I run mergemaster command, /etc/ppp/ppp.conf will be updated.
But I connect to Internet with ADSL, and set to /etc/ppp/ppp.conf
for ADSL.

Fix:

change ,install configuration file, from /etc/ppp/ppp.conf to /etc/ppp/ppp.conf.sample

	OR

add -conf argumenet in /usr/sbin/ppp command

Please.

When mergemaster is run, the merge option should be used to simply
merge the $FreeBSD$ Id line into your existing /etc/ppp/ppp.conf.

This is much the same for most files under /etc.

Having said that, if someone were to supply patches to make ppp
understand a -conf switch (usable only by root), I'd have no
problem with integrating them into the sources.
