Hmm, I cant reproduce that here, not with the above and not with any other torture test I can come up with. I think you have a HW problem of some sort since you alse have spontaneous reboots.. Since moving to a new controller the problem disappeared. I can't estimate whether it is possible to be a certain hardware configuration, but just for the record: it involved a Gigabyte 6BXD, running a SMP kernel, the hard-drive is an IBM-DTLA-305020. -- Volker Stolz * vs@foldr.org * PGP + S/MIME State Changed From-To: open->closed Problem was a hardware issue, rather than an ATA issue. |
Enabling ATA tags will (reliably reproduceable by make world -j4!) cause the following errors on heavy disk load, including a spontaneous reboot.
