Bug 32122

Summary: xf86cfg graphics-mode fails on Samsung SyncMaster 760V TFT
Product: Ports & Packages Reporter: Alan Eldridge <alane>
Component: Individual Port(s)Assignee: Eric Anholt <anholt>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Alan Eldridge 2001-11-20 02:40:01 UTC
xf86cfg attempts to put the screen into a low-res (640x480?) mode for
configuration (the lowest-common-denominator approach).

Monitor will have nothing to do with this; screen goes blank and monitor
displays a little box saying "Video mode not supported".

Fix:

A suggestion:

The configuration program for XFree86-3.3.6 works with this monitor.
Find whatever the new configuration program does differently in setting
up the display and change it to do it the old way?
How-To-Repeat:
Run the program on a system with a SyncMaster 760V monitor. (Other TFT
monitors may be similarly affected; anybody else with data points?)

If this is still a problem, please submit it to xfree86@XFree86.org. There
doesn't appear to be anything FreeBSD-specific about this, and it's not
something I can handle.
